Fan & Clutch
The fan clutch is easily overlooked. When cooling is an issue, the radiator is always the first place people go. I had an 83 years ago, and I was plagued with cooling issues. By necessity, I'd systematically replaced all of the usual suspects, but it was only years later I realized my mistake.
The fan clutch is a mechanical system wherein which a coil determines when the fan engages. a coil reacts to the temperature, and this allows the fan to relinquish its drag when it's not needed with no electronics needed.
Not only did I replace the clutch, but I upgraded the fan from 3 blades to 5. All that was required was a wire brush, some elbow grease, and some paint. The fan simply bolts on using the same mounting hardware.
